  Tonight I saw this beautiful post on steampunk aristocrat waistcoats and I flipped. I have a major crush on anything related to suits.

  I can’t afford these. They’re $85 or so each. 

  So I did the next best thing: I drew.

  MCM Expo!

  For the first time ever, I’m going to a con - MCM Expo time tomorrow! My photographer friend Shaunnie and I are gonna get up all too early for a Saturday, grab some leftover-BBQ sausage burgers and head allll the way down south. And then queue til forever. But hopefully I’ll get to meet all the lovely artists down there, perhaps have a chat. Hand out some simple business cards. Get icecream. Sounds like a wonderful plan! :D

  A few days ago I took a trip to the countryside. I looked everywhere for an A6 sketchbook, with creamy papers - but I didn’t want to pay the price of a Moleskin. Luckily The Man had one on him, and said I could keep it too YEY! >:3 

  I wanted to draw on the journey (because it was a painstaking 5 hours or so) but I ended up being all travel sick and trying to keep my insides in. I did manage to sneak in this sketch though as we waited in Costa.

  Lineart done! Pretty happy with it. I finished my animation last night so decided to celebrate by traditional inking - just a bottle of ink and a pointed brush.

  My second year final project is DONE!
  
  It’s a quick little story about a boy and a cloud who both want to soak up the sun, but neither want to give way! The moral of the story is to not mess about with storm clouds. All the frames were drawn in Photoshop, and composited in AfterEffects. This was an 8 week project, and I am glad I got it finished in time.
  
  Looking back I can see things I would like to tweak, but there is not enough time right now. The strange thing about using audio is that it changes the perception of time, so there are scenes that could have been a frame longer or shorter. It also made me rethink the moods of scenes. For the most part though, I have realised that perhaps the story is not as clear to the public as it is to me and I am already thinking of little fillers here and there which would help carry the story a lot better.
  
  However, for now, it is quite a polished animation (for a newbie student). It’s only my third I’ve ever done, and I am improving. I’m going to tackle it a bit more, because I always did want to work in the animation field.

  Hey Tumblr, I got my animation done! When I say that, I mean all the frames are right. The timing’s a bit off, and I blame the RAM for that (it wouldn’t playback at the right speed), and it needs a few tweaks that bother me. Then credits and title pages go in, then sound, and it’ll be done and dusted. Hopefully, by Tuesday evening.

  I still have a couple of other projects to finish off as well. Urk.
